Microwave Interview: Mono Bagends
This week's Microwave blog entry is dedicated to popular indie rapper Mono Bagends! In this interview Mono Bagends talks about his blazing hot single "On Fire", the artists that he feels are "hot right now" and other topics. Read all about it below.....
The Microwave Blog: You're
in "The Microwave", what makes Mono Bagends and your single "On
Fire" so "hot right now"?
Mono Bagends: It's a positive song that people can relate to. It makes people
feel good..I think some people are tired of hearing about the same nonsense
that is recycled in rap music so this record and myself are a breath of fresh
air.
What artists in the mainstream do you feel are "hot right
now"?
Kanye West, Drake and
2 ChainzI really like all kinds of music..if it's hot and I can relate to it I'm on it.
Getting back to you and your single, the video recently reached
170,000 video views! The people are loving it! Have you decided on a song for a follow up single, or are you
going to continue to max out this video at least until next year?
The new record is
coming at the top of the new year...I know which one I am going with but don't
want to give it away just yet....it is a going to have more of a dance/pop
appeal to it...its a dope record...I collaborated with a gorgeous female singer
on it...Shout out to Mela Bela. It's all about word of mouth...I am not dealing with a major label budget so I can't promote everywhere. I feel like the record hasn't even been seen.
I enjoy watching football, working out and reading...
I co-produce the majority of my records..maybe one day I will fully produce my records. I probably could do a good job managing an artist but too many artists' have crap attitudes so don't know if I would want to burden myself with that.
Once upon A time, Boardwalk Empire and I am looking forward to Spartacus and Game of Thrones starting up again. Games of Thrones is my favorite.
Acting is something I would like to do...I know I could rock that out.
That the music game is a very difficult thing to do. If you like an artist you should support them and buy their records....Don't Bootleg!!!!! On Fire is on sale now on itunes. If you like it cop it.

The Microwave Interview with D.I.V.
Check out our Microwave Blog interview with rising indie hip hop star D.I.V.! In this interview D.I.V. talks about what he feels is "hot right now" from movies to music, and to plug his forthcoming album The 12th Hour set to be released 12/12/12
The
Microwave: You're in the
"Microwave"....What makes D.I.V. so hot right now?
D.I.V.: Anytime
vision and execution are in tune with one another its monumental. I have my own
sound, I'm intelligent with a message and a current sound. I am super versatile, riding a lane that
isn't occupied, and have a New York minute work ethic. The Microwave: What mainstream hip hop artists do you feel are "hot right now"?
D.I.V.: I love soul, jazz, roots and culture reggae, r n b, and classic rock. I love music in general though.
D.I.V.: Yea, honestly that is all I wanna shoot from now on. My directors have been developing treatments. I really just want to add new expression to the music and the movie style joints really develop the music and give a great visual.
The
Microwave: Speaking of movies, do you plan on getting
into any acting?
D.I.V.: Well I'm
really planning on just making my videos forums for me to act. Right now I'm doing music, but if I have the
blessing of being able to act, that would be dope. I'm just really focused on music scores and sound
tracking my visuals correctly.D.I.V.: The dopest movie I heard of is The Man With The Iron Fists... SOOOOO MONSTERRR!!! That has a lot to do with why I wanna act. RZA is real inspirational and one of my influences musically as an artist producer and engineer.
Godfather 1 and 2
HEAT
Goodfellas
Smoking Aces
Shottas
and pretty much any 007
D.I.V.: Al Pacino and Robert Deniro
D.I.V.: Well its already done, we are just working out budgeting and schedules. Me and Nuf are focusing on different avenues for our music and that is also putting a hold on our movements as far as So O.D.
D.I.V.: Nuf is focusing on battling right now and trying to get involved in that circuit. He is definitely capable and determined to slaughter anyone in his way lol.
D.I.V.: In five years, lord willing, I will be touring and continuing to deliver dope hip hop music and visuals alongside my Giant G Fam. The reach will be much greater and the budgeting will allow us to do more. In the meantime, look out for "POWER" and "World Goes Round" Videos from the upcoming project The 12th Hour dropping 12/12/12

HOT MIXTAPE: D.I.V.'s THE VISION'S THE FOUNDATION Presented by The Legendary Ron G.
This week's Microwave Blog Mixtape Spotlight is on rising New York lyricist D.I.V. This mixtape is titled The Vision's The Foundation and it's presented by The Legendary Ron. G.
The mixtape contains 15 tracks of pure fire. Listen as D.I. takes full control of each track, displaying true lyrical skills over strong New York flavored backdrops. Most of the production comes from Joey C., but D.I.V. also rocks over other instrumentals provided by A.O., Lyr1kz, J the Chef, the legendary Ron G. and veteran super producer The Alchemist. D.I.V. also shares the mic on a few tracks with his partner in rhyme and fellow S.O. Od member Nuf $ed, as well as two quick cameos from Hop da Great and The Bad Guy, but for the most part D.I.V. holds the down the mixtape by himself, keeping the guests to a minimum and giving the fans a well rounded view of what this east coast stationed emcee has to offer.
You can check out the full mixtape yourself at the link provided here
